McHenry has over 30 years of real estate industry experience in acquiring, developing, financing, constructing, and managing over $2.5 billion and 20,000 multifamily units. Before Hillwood, McHenry led regional multifamily investment and development operations for public and private companies. He held senior management positions with national apartment REITs and private multifamily investment and development firms, including JPI Development as Regional and National Partner and the Lane Company serving as Regional President and Development Partner.
In addition to his extensive development experience, McHenry has led investment sourcing, acquisition and financing activities for development opportunities and stabilized assets involving various investment and financing structures.
Before focusing on the multifamily industry, McHenry held a management position in KPMG’s management consulting practice, providing a diverse array of real estate investment, development and advisory services. He also gained experience in the engineering consulting industry, providing various investment and development services to lenders, owners, developers, and commercial real estate investors.
