TCC’s Erma C. Johnson Hadley Northwest Center of Excellence in Aviation, Transportation and Logistics, based at Fort Worth Alliance Airport, has become one of North Texas’ most important training pipelines for aviation mechanics, pilots and logistics professionals, offering certifications and continuing education opportunities.

UNT's Logistics and Supply Chain Management department offers well-rounded, state-of-the-art courses using a “learn today, apply tomorrow” philosophy. Logistics courses examine: advanced logistics problems, analysis, business transportation, critical problem solving, global logistics management, and strategic marketing channels.

T3: TARRANT TO & THROUGH

The T3 Partnership provides a variety of programs designed to inform and engage Tarrant County students and families about college and career pathways. Hillwood, through the AllianceTexas Foundation, has committed $225,000 to help support the educational programs of T3 to develop the workforce of the future. T3 is creating Clear Pathway and Brighter Futures.

ALLIANCETEXAS FOUNDATION 
AND LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Student success and access to a variety of career paths is imperative for a ready, homegrown workforce. As such, Hillwood has partnered with Northwest ISD Education Foundation to open an endowment focused on CTE (Career and Technical Education). The $50,000 endowment can be contributed to by any entity in the Alliance region and assists students with ancillary costs associated with the 12 programs of study and nearly 2,000 certification options offered at Northwest ISD.

Career growth in aviation and logistics are a top focus in the region. Hillwood recently created a three-year, $50,000 scholarship through Northwest ISD, which will fund the completion of a graduated pilot and an aviation mechanic training program for two deserving students. The scholarship is part of a broader community-wide effort, focused on maintaining North Texas’ position as the No. 2 aviation and aerospace job market in the nation.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Mayor’s Council on Education & Workforce Development

Fort Worth Mayor Parker convened a 14-member council made up of local leaders including Tom Harris, Executive Vice President of Hillwood, to link the business community with education institutions to increase career readiness within the city.

Initiatives include bolstering programs for students to earn an associate degree or industry certifications while completing their high school education.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

Junior Achievement (JA) provides a platform to the local schools to help introduce students to all of the possibilities that exist for their future. JA recently partnered with AllianceTexas companies on their Inspire program to connect with students virtually, showcasing employment opportunities in the marketplace and build excitement for new career pathways.
