Beginning his career with Hillwood at Alliance Airport in 1990, Tom helped establish the airport’s fixed-base operation and airport management companies. In 2000, as senior vice president of operations, he assumed responsibility for many of Alliance’s real estate operating units. He launched Alliance Landscape Company in 2010 to provide high-quality landscape and irrigation solutions to AllianceTexas customers. The following year, he became president of the Alliance aviation companies during a period of significant business growth and oversaw a multimillion-dollar runway extension program at the airport.
Today, Tom chairs the Fort Worth Mayor’s Council on Education and Workforce Development, which works to strengthen connections between the business community and educational institutions and improve career readiness throughout Fort Worth. Most recently, the Texas Education Agency appointed him to lead the newly established Lake Worth Independent School District Board of Managers.
Tom and his wife, Ellen, are co-founders of the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for depression research, advocates for families who have lost loved ones to suicide, and facilitates suicide prevention programs for children and adults throughout North Texas. Tom also serves on several nonprofit boards that support child welfare, education, and workforce development.
