Beginning his career with Hillwood in 1990 at Alliance Airport, Tom helped lead the effort to establish the airport’s fixed-base operation and airport management companies. In 2000, as the SVP of Operations, Tom directed many of Alliance's real estate operating units. In 2010, Tom launched the Alliance Landscape Company to provide high-quality landscape and irrigation solutions to AllianceTexas customers. Subsequently, in 2011, he moved into the role of President of the Alliance Aviation companies during significant business growth, overseeing a multimillion-dollar runway extension program at the airport. Most recently, Tom was asked to chair the Fort Worth Mayor's Council on Education and Workforce Development to better link the business community with education institutions throughout Fort Worth to enhance overall career readiness.
Tom and his wife, Ellen, are co-founders of the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation. This non-profit organization raises funds for depression research efforts, advocates on behalf of families who have lost loved ones to suicide and facilitates suicide prevention programs for children and adults throughout North Texas. Tom sits on several nonprofit boards in the community that support children's welfare, education, and workforce development.
