The Connect November 2023
Rethinking Transit to Power the Workforce of Tomorrow
Empowering employees to reach their jobs is essential to the success of our fast-growing region. North Texas is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the U.S., gaining 328 people daily. More than two million residents, alone, live within 20 miles of AllianceTexas, and Hillwood’s 27,000 acre-development is also home to 562 companies that have created more than 66,000 direct jobs.
Through thoughtful, public-private partnerships, Hillwood is working to build long-term transit solutions for AllianceTexas and beyond. Strategic infrastructure planning and roadway improvements lead to stronger transportation connectivity and reach, ultimately making the Alliance corridor accessible to more people in less time.
The recently completed North Tarrant Express (NTE) TEXpress lanes in North Fort Worth are part of the critical roadway system directly connecting to over 75 million square feet of industrial logistics facilities. The new stretch of highway will significantly improve capacity and safety, giving AllianceTexas-based companies and their workforce a strategic advantage.
Public transit options also continue to improve and evolve to meet the community's needs.
Trinity Metro and Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) service the Alliance corridor, connecting Fort Worth to the south and Denton to the north. Trinity Metro recently purchased a new luxury bus fleet with onboard Wi-Fi and plans to utilize the new TEXpress lanes along I-35W to ensure a timely arrival or your ride is free.
Trinity Metro and DCTA will collaborate directly with employers on tailored options that fit their workforce needs, including a vanpooling program powered by Commute with Enterprise. The program includes a selection of new model SUVs and vans offering an alternative to mass transit with ample benefits for both the employee and employer.
On-demand, final-mile transit options are also readily available through Trinity Metro’s ZIPZONE and DCTA’s GoZone programs. Both offer complimentary fares with an eligible bus pass.
"Hillwood remains committed to prioritizing reliable and creative transit solutions for AllianceTexas companies and its workforce,” said Robert Folzenlogen, senior vice president of strategic development and innovation at Hillwood. “Getting people to and from work is vital to the success of our growing region. Hillwood and our public-private partnerships will continue to make transit a priority now and in the future.”
