AllianceTexas Named a Global Trade Powerhouse by Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock
AllianceTexas is raising the bar for inland ports, earning recognition from Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.
As part of his Good for Texas Tour: Ports Edition, Hancock visited Hillwood’s 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development. The hub features direct intermodal rail connections to major ports, including Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Houston, making it a gateway for global trade into North Texas.
During the visit, Hancock highlighted the importance of ports to Texas’ economy:
"Ports are key to Texas’ economic strength — they power trade, jobs, and innovation. AllianceTexas is a clear example of how forward-thinking infrastructure keeps our economy strong and competitive worldwide."
A newly released Texas Comptroller study shows that in 2024, Texas ports generated $1 trillion in international trade. AllianceTexas alone contributed $834.6 million — a 550.7% increase since 2016.
Hillwood President Mike Berry noted that Hancock’s visit underscores the tremendous economic growth Texas continues to experience, fueled by a business-friendly climate that drives innovation, job creation, and opportunity statewide.
"While traditional seaports rely on docks and canals, what you see around you — this runway, these highways, and rail lines — are our ports of entry," Berry said. "Together, they form a robust logistics network that connects Texas to the global marketplace."
As one of only two intermodal logistics facilities in Texas, AllianceTexas integrates air, ground, and rail, continuing to set the standard for modern logistics and global trade in North Texas. View the Comptroller’s full report here.
