Tim Ward

President, Alliance Air / Aviation Services

Tim Ward serves as president of Alliance Air Services and Alliance Aviation Services. Ward oversees the management, operation and service provision for both groups. Alliance Air Services, Hillwood’s aviation management and service company, manages Alliance Airport for the city of Fort Worth. Alliance Aviation Services operates Hillwood’s full-service Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Established in 1994, the Alliance FBO has grown to be ranked one of the top FBO’s in North America, receiving annual recognition from ExxonMobil.

Ward is also president of Alliance Air Productions, a non-profit organization responsible for producing the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. This air show is recognized as one of the best civilian produced shows in the country.

Ward also directs the strategic planning and improvements for the airport, including the development of additional air cargo facilities and the expansion of the primary runway from 9,600 feet to 11,000 feet. One of the world’s fastest growing airports, Air Cargo World recently ranked Fort Worth Alliance Airport among the top 25 airports in the nation for air cargo traffic.

Prior to joining Hillwood, Ward served for four years as director of aviation for the city of Austin, where he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, planning and development of municipal airport facilities.  His experience with the city included a major expansion of the existing airport and the planning and development of a $700 million new airport.

Previously Ward worked with Wayne County Department of Airports, responsible for Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Willow Run Airport. During his 15-year tenure, Ward served in a variety of positions in airport operations and held a final position as director of airports.

Ward spent five years on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association of Airport Executives. He was the 1988 recipient of the Jay Hollingsworth Speas Award, which is co-sponsored by the American Association of Airport Executives and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The award is presented to individuals for their efforts in making airports compatible with surrounding communities.

Ward is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Airport Executives, the North Texas Commission Board of Directors, Texas Transportation Institute Advisory Board and the North Texas Council of Governments Air Transportation Technical Advisory Committee. He serves on the ExxonMobil Advisory Board of Directors, where he served as chairman in 1999 and 2000 and vice-chairman in 2004 and 2005. He previously completed two terms on the Airport Council International Board with a year as associate chairman.

Ward earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management from Eastern Michigan University, where he also completed graduate work.
