Russell Laughlin serves as a senior vice president of Hillwood Properties, the developer of AllianceTexas. His expertise include land development, master planning and entitlement in connection with real estate and business development, including economic development, public-private partnerships, transportation policy and funding, and statewide water planning.

Laughlin oversees the management, operation, land and infrastructure planning, and entitlements of AllianceTexas, a 17,000-acre mixed-use, master-planned community.  He has been instrumental in the development of AllianceTexas, North Fort Worth and Tarrant County areas in leading long-term regional planning initiatives.

Laughlin’s leadership in land development activities has guided the continued development of AllianceTexas as a premier business community and logistics center offering a world-class air, rail and highway multimodal transportation system.  Additionally, he serves as a board member and officer of several property owners’ associations within the AllianceTexas development.  Here his responsibilities are focused on maintaining the unparalleled quality of property development and services to the AllianceTexas community.

After joining Hillwood in 1987, Laughlin served as a project manager with development responsibilities for the company’s income property portfolio and 700-acre land development program in several U.S. cities.  Prior to joining the AllianceTexas program in 1995, he served as a director of Hillwood's National Transportation Authority, where his primary responsibilities focused on privatized road development projects.

Laughlin currently serves on the Region C Water Planning Board, the North American Super Corridor Coalition Board, the Northern Trinity Groundwater Conservation District Board, the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition Executive Committee and is President of the 35W Coalition. Additionally, he serves as a Board of Trustee Member for Fort Worth Country Day School. Laughlin was awarded the Road Hand award from the Texas Department of Transportation for his efforts to improve transportation in North Texas.

A graduate of Texas Tech University, Laughlin received a Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture and planning in 1981. In 1984, he earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
