Joe Maly

Vice President

Joe Maly serves as vice president of Hillwood Properties, developer of AllianceTexas. Maly is involved with developing the life sciences business at AllianceTexas, a 17,000 acre mixed-use master-planned community. The medical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotech industries will benefit from Maly’s experience in this area.

Prior to joining Hillwood in 2005, Maly served as president of the Fort Worth Opportunity Center, a non-profit jobs skills training center meeting the needs of Fort Worth businesses through partnerships with education, industry, labor and community service organizations. His knowledge of the local workforce and organizations will benefit AllianceTexas corporate residents hiring and/or training employees. Maly represents Hillwood in local workforce initiatives which support our customers’ growth and development.

Previous to working with the Fort Worth Opportunity Center, Maly served as vice president of Johnson & Johnson Medical and as distribution manager of Avon Products. Maly filled a key leadership role in the highly successful merger and turnaround of three Johnson & Johnson companies to form Johnson & Johnson Medical, and then led efforts to refine the company’s business in Asia and Latin America. Maly also led a global team successfully rationalizing worldwide manufacturing and sourcing for Johnson & Johnson Medical. Beginning his career with Avon Products, in the Supply Chain Division, Maly oversaw distribution, customer service and order processing.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Adelphi University in New York, Maly served in the United States Air Force as captain where he led operations management for aircraft maintenance in the Pacific. Maly completed his MBA at Pace University in New York. He also attended Harvard University’s Resident Advanced Management Program. Finally, Maly currently serves on the Board of Directors of Tech Fort Worth, the University of North Texas Health Science Foundation Board and the Research and Education Institute for Texas Health Resources Leadership Council.
