Bill Walker
Community Relations Director
Bill Walker serves as the community relations director for Hillwood Properties, the developer of AllianceTexas. Walker works to enhance communications and coordination between Hillwood and the citizenry and public officials of all the communities in and around AllianceTexas. The boundaries of the 17,000-acre AllianceTexas development include property from two counties, four cities and two school districts. AllianceTexas and the companies located within the development have contributed more than $625 million in property taxes to these local jurisdictions.
Before joining Hillwood in 1996, Walker served four years as executive director for United We Stand America-Texas. During his tenure, he coordinated the election of thirty Congressional District officers throughout Texas and maintained statewide grassroots organizations in support of the national effort. An active member of numerous professional organizations, Walker previously served as a founding member and 1990 President of the Southeast Wise Chamber of Commerce, a founding member of the International Board of Trustees Special Olympics, a member of the American Alliance for Health and Physical Education and a delegate to the White House Conference on Children.
Currently, Walker serves on the executive committee for the Northeast Leadership Forum. He is also on the 12-man Board of the Denton County Transportation Authority. He is a board member, at large, for the Texas Motor Speedway’s Children’s Charities, Northwest Community Partnership and the Northwest Business Partnership. He serves as a planning committee member for the annual Heart of North Texas business conference. In addition, he is a member of the Metroport Partnership, Keller Chamber of Commerce, Southlake Chamber and the Fort Worth Chamber Transportation Committee. In February 1999, he was appointed by the Roanoke City Council and continues to serve as a member of the 4-B Economic Development Corporation of the city of Roanoke. Walker also serves the city of Roanoke as a member of the Roanoke Parks and Recreation Board. Walker served three terms on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Metroport Chamber of Commerce and maintains his membership in the organization. Walker is also a member of the Northwest Education Foundation.
Walker received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Alabama and earned his MBA from Troy State University.
